Château La Chenevière is a luxury hotel nestled in the Norman countryside between the charming town of Bayeux and the historic landing beaches.
This beautiful manor house dates back to the 18th century and is surrounded by a 12-hectare ground which includes an outdoor heated swimming pool, a tennis court and a stunning garden – as to ensure a fully relaxing stay.
The 29 romantic rooms and suites are all decorated with elegance and include luxurious amenities. Guests are encouraged to experience the chateau life with its discreet, tailor-made service.
Château La Chenevière is also a gastronomic destination, where diners can indulge in Normandy’s rich cuisine. The restaurant’s fresh produce either comes from the chateau’s own vegetable garden or from the best local farmers.
La Chenevière offers its guests spacious and refined rooms. Each room has its own unique design which harmoniously combines ancient charm and modern comfort. The woodwork and marble fireplaces provide an authenticity that only older homes can offer.
Each of these pastel-shaded rooms delivers elegant comfort in their own way, while providing a cosy and romantic atmosphere.
Chef Didier Robin makes it a point of honour to cook with only Norman farm-fresh ingredients. Carefully selected from the best producers in the region, he pairs them delightfully with herbs, fruits and vegetables from the Château's permaculture kitchen garden.
Didier Robin's cuisine is inspired by traditional and regional recipes to which he adds his own creative touches. The end result is "surf and turf" fine dining and a menu that changes with the seasons. Be sure to stop for a beverage at our bar, Le Botaniste.
Set in the garden or in the Orangery, Le Petit Jardin is a unique restaurant where you can enjoy local and seasonal cuisine, which includes fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs from the chateau's permaculture garden.
The Petit Jardin is an ideal place for meals with family and friends. Open for lunch and dinner time. Lunch menu based on two or three courses, dinner a la carte.
La Chenevière stands amidst vast grounds sprawling over 12 hectares, including 2 hectares of walled gardens. Lovingly tended to by the Château's gardeners, it contains an orangery, a rose garden, fragrant plant beds, a permaculture kitchen garden and a multitude of exotic trees.
This lush green park contributes to the charm of the property just as much as does the Château. It encourages pleasant strolls and is the ideal place to recharge your batteries after a long day.
In the middle of the park, enclosed within walls, the heated pool awaits you from May to September.
After swimming a few laps, stretch out on one of the deck chairs around the pool to sunbathe or lounge in the shade of a parasol. The perfect way to enjoy the peace and quiet of our site, unlike any other.
Objective: relaxation. La Chenevière has a wellness centre where a wide variety of massages and other spa treatments are on offer. Each is given by a wellness specialist. Depending on your needs, treat yourself to a 30 to 60 minute massage, on its own or in combination with other treatments.
An escape from reality where you can eliminate stress and fatigue, and stock up on healthy energy.

A gourmet getaway in a luxury hotel near Caen, in Normandy
The luxury hotel is also known to have some of the best restaurants in Normandy and is a real culinary destination. Restaurant bistro Le Petit Jardin is open for lunch and dinner and is located in the chateau’s old conservatory by the pool. It offers casual French cuisine with fresh vegetables, herbs and fruits from the luxury hotel’s own vegetable garden. A barbecue is served every Sunday for lunch during the summer months.
The second fine-dining restaurant, Le Botaniste, is located inside the chateau on the ground floor. The interior pays tribute to nature with its natural pastel colours and floral fabrics on the chairs and curtains, golden foliage wall lamps and dried flower bouquets from the chateau’s garden. The floor to ceiling windows around the restaurant offer a panoramic view on the garden’s centennial trees. The restaurant is only open for dinner and serves a seasonal menu with fresh ingredients supplied by Normandy’s best producers, all carefully selected by the Head Chef. The exquisite food can be paired with the many wines from the chateau’s cellar. The sommelier can either suggest a bottle or a wine pairing by the glass.
