A haven of greenery and tranquility for an all-inclusive stay, offering a warm and discreet welcome and service, a lovely and comfortable room, a château with a welcoming atmosphere, and attentive, smiling staff. Beautiful, luxurious hotel with French charm. A very attractive and well-maintained establishment with tasteful furnishings and decor. Attentive and plentiful staff ensure a warm welcome. The swimming pool is a good size and well-suited to the hotel's capacity, so there's always space to swim. The garden furniture is also high-quality and new. The rooms are spacious and bright, and the two rooms we used have separate toilets, which is certainly a French standard for a 5-star hotel. Parking is included, easily accessible, and convenient. The only thing missing is a sauna. The grounds are large, with mature trees and are well-maintained – a beautiful green oasis.Published on Google![]()

That's why "Oh-la-la" is a French expression… An absolutely magnificent stay! From the welcome to the accommodation and amenities, not forgetting the food and the staff: everything was excellent. Special mention to Ambre, the bartender, who not only prepared superb house cocktails (the Botanist is my favorite), but also mastered the classics, with or without a touch of originality. Clean and beautifully maintained rooms in keeping with the manor's style, excellent beds, and powerful hot showers. Lovely grounds and swimming pool, tennis if you're so inclined. Beautiful restaurants with equally refined cuisine and, of course, an exceptional wine list. For us, this became our new home base for our adventures in Normandy and the D-Day landings. We will definitely be back!

Tranquil Castles. A very pleasant, calm, and relaxing setting. Port-en-Bessin-Huppain is easily accessible on foot. The staff was very welcoming, and the on-site restaurants were excellent, as was the breakfast. I recommend having a car for easier access to the surrounding villages, although we were able to take a taxi to Bayeux without any problem thanks to the concierge. I loved the historic atmosphere of the place. I highly recommend it.

A stay of Exceptional! We spent five nights at Château La Chenevière, which served as our base for exploring the region. It's a magnificent estate steeped in history. Our room was superb, with a very comfortable bed and high-quality amenities. We loved strolling through the grounds and relaxing by the pool after our excursions. The staff was very pleasant. Breakfast was delicious. We had dinner at Le Botaniste one evening, and while the presentation was lovely, the flavors and cooking were lacking. We had a car and parking was easy, so we dined in Bayeaux the other evenings. Parking in the center of Bayeaux is easy, even at the end of June. On the day of our arrival, we had lunch in Port-en-Bessin – a pleasant walk. We highly recommend this hotel to couples and families! Breakfast was a real treat!

What a fabulous place! We wish we could have stayed longer. The rooms and the property are simply magnificent. Many guests, including us, were taken by guides for tours of the D-Day landing beaches (an extraordinary sight that must be seen to be truly understood). The service was impeccable, old-fashioned, the kind you rarely find these days. The food was very good. It's easy to see why the place was fully booked and why we could only stay one night. Giovanni was exceptional, extremely attentive and thoughtful.

An enchanting 4-night stay in a magnificent castle nestled in the heart of a vast, verdant estate. The superbly decorated rooms are very comfortable and spotless. The service was impeccable. The hotel boasts two Michelin-starred restaurants, both excellent. The noise level was acceptable, despite a few creaks typical of an old building. The castle is located 10 minutes from Bayeux, a town brimming with fine restaurants. The value for money is on par with a 5-star hotel. The only downside: the €32 breakfast, a price unfortunately common in hotels.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The staff are simply lovely. The room was so comfortable and quiet – we had the best night's sleep of our lives! The food is absolutely delicious (a bit pricey, admittedly, but of exceptional quality) and the staff are very knowledgeable about wines. They sometimes offer additional options, but without being pushy or intrusive. The breakfast buffet is divine: an incredible selection, beautifully presented, and fresh, delicious products. I truly regret not having stayed a third night here instead of spending a fortune on a disastrous one-night stay at the Hôtel Normandy in Deauville.

On our day trip, we had the unforgettable pleasure of lunching at Château La Chenevière – and I can honestly say it was like a dream. A jewel in Normandy. My wife and I had planned a whirlwind two-day visit to Mont-Saint-Michel and Normandy. So we decided to leave our Parisian hotel room for one night and stay in Normandy. Wow… what a wonderful, albeit accidental, decision! La Chenevière is a restored manor house, impeccably renovated and maintained, and run by the most clever, thoughtful, and amazing staff you could ever meet. We eat light in the evenings, so we opted for the five-star restaurant rather than the comfort of the bar, where Timothy served conscientiously. Tuna salad and chicken salad, both light and meticulously prepared. The room was wonderful, comfortable, and thoughtfully furnished. Omaha Beach is 10 minutes away. We even asked our guide to leave his car so we could come back for a drink and a bathroom break after we left, which was very welcome by the fantastic staff. If you're going to the beaches of Normandy… come here. Period.

Best hotel in Normandy. My wife and I have just enjoyed our tenth stay at Château La Chenevière. Our first visit was in 2015, and we were immediately captivated by the château, its magnificent grounds, and its exceptional staff. We now stay there every spring. The château is close to the D-Day landing beaches and a 10-minute walk from the beautiful fishing village of Port-en-Bessin. It is also a 10-minute drive from the historic town of Bayeau. The château comprises a main house and an adjacent building, all with beautifully decorated bedrooms, each with its own unique and elegant style. The grounds are spectacular and impeccably maintained. The lounge areas are inviting and warm. The property boasts two restaurants, which are not to be missed during a stay at the resort. My wife and I stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon last month, and all I can say is WOW! The service and staff were fantastic, as were the rooms and amenities. It has a charming French countryside feel with a touch of luxury. It's very close to Bayeux and the surrounding D-Day landing sites. If we ever return to Normandy, we will definitely stay here again.

My wife and I spent several days here and were blown away by this property! The location was perfect for visiting the beaches and attractions of Normandy. The hotel staff and service were incredible, and they truly appreciated our stay. They know how to take excellent care of tourists, and our meals were prepared by a local chef. Everything was delicious and satisfying, from breakfast in the morning to dinner after a long day of sightseeing. This peaceful and quiet place is ideal for couples looking for a romantic getaway. Five stars and worth every penny.

We booked this castle for a family weekend to celebrate a special occasion. The organization was incredibly professional from start to finish. The setting, the welcome—everything lived up to the prestige of the place. We booked a Junior Suite: magnificent, comfortable, and spacious. Dinner at Le Botaniste restaurant was one of the best I've ever had: everything was delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The service was impeccable, nothing to complain about. The same goes for the breakfast buffet. We will definitely return. All our guests share this opinion.Published on Google![]()

Beautiful Château. We had a lovely and relaxing three-night stay at the château. We had a fabulous room with its own private staircase. The château's gardens are immaculate, and we enjoyed strolling around, taking in the magnificent surroundings. The fresh orange juice at breakfast was absolutely delicious, as were the fresh breads and pastries. Everyone was extremely welcoming, and the château is located just minutes from Bayeux and the D-Day landing beaches.Published on Google![]()

The small garden in the middle of summer, the courtyard nicely shaded and romantic as can be, the dishes cooked with vegetables from the garden, returning one evening with a view of the pool!Published on TripAdvisor![]()

We loved La Chenevière! It was an elegant haven of peace after our visits to Mont Saint-Michel and the Normandy beaches. The grounds were magnificent, and the staff were helpful and welcoming. The restaurants Le Petit Jardin and Le Botaniste were delicious, with impressive service. We will be back!

Our 4-night stay at La Chenevière was truly special. La Chenevière is a property with first-rate staff. The rooms were beautiful, spacious, elegant, and comfortable. The property itself is magnificent with its gardens, lovely swimming pool, tennis court, and two restaurants. Both restaurants were outstanding. Le Botaniste, the more formal of the two, was a special, full-course dining experience for our extended family of eight. We felt particularly well looked after by the staff, especially Béatrice, who shared wonderful suggestions and recommendations with us. We loved every minute of our stay in this charming, upscale, family-friendly setting.Published on TripAdvisor![]()

Wonderful experience! The château boasts a superb location and is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The hotel is truly charming and elegantly furnished. We dined at the bistro, and it was excellent. Breakfast in the dining room is not to be missed. It offers a lovely selection of pastries, fresh fruit, breads, cheeses, and hams. The attentive and friendly service deserves special mention. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.Published on TripAdvisor![]()

Lush grounds and impeccable service. We just returned to California after a 6-day stay at Château La Chenevière. If word of this incredibly beautiful hotel/castle were out, I couldn't imagine anyone staying anywhere else to visit the D-Day landing sites. It's located just up the road from Port du Bassin, a charming fishing center with stunning views and plenty of restaurants to choose from. But the star attraction in this area is the château. The rooms are large, and the bathrooms are renovated and extremely comfortable. The grounds span approximately 10 to 15 acres (I'd guess), and the greenery, pool, tennis courts, and restaurant would make for an incredibly relaxing place to take a break from the action, so to speak, after a hectic European trip. I HIGHLY recommend the Château and hope others have the opportunity to enjoy a visit as we were privileged to do. A most enjoyable hotel experience for this very seasoned traveler!Published on TripAdvisor![]()

"Three Memorable Gastronomic Experiences at Château de la Chenevière: Flavors, Wonder, and Discoveries" As a family, we had the privilege of enjoying the three dining experiences offered at the prestigious Château de la Chenevière. On the first morning, breakfast was sumptuous, presented on a vast buffet offering a variety of flavors. The drinks, served hot and according to each guest's preferences, had a welcoming character, providing a serene start to the day during which we explored the hotel's dining room. Béatrice and her team met our specific needs with smiling elegance, refined discretion, and a clear desire to make our breakfast unforgettable. Our two faithful canine companions were even able to join us for this morning experience. The following day, at lunchtime, we had the opportunity to discover Le Petit Jardin, the hotel's bistronomic restaurant. Welcomed by Romain at a table specially set for us under a splendid glass roof, we had the pleasure of savoring a selection of dishes prepared with produce from the permaculture garden and surrounding local producers. The seasonal cocktails, as well as the Petit Jardin's signature creation, proved to be truly exceptional, and these are the very ingredients that grace the bar. It's worth noting that this was the first time we had experienced such delicate cooking of white fish, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender and boneless, adding a delightful dimension to our culinary enjoyment. Special mention goes to young Romane, who looked after our table with a smile and discretion throughout the meal. Finally, for dinner, we left our four-legged friends in our room to enjoy the château's gourmet restaurant, which was our last stop at La Chenevière. We were first warmly welcomed at the bar by Thibault, the head bartender, who offered us three exceptional cocktails, meticulously crafted and prepared, accompanied by vegetable crisps made from garden produce. We then settled into the armchairs in the bar area. After perusing the restaurant menus, we placed our order. Once seated in the dining room, Julie escorted us to a prime table offering panoramic views of the surrounding gardens and an unobstructed perspective of the dining room itself. The amuse-bouches, a true preview of the culinary talents on offer, had already captivated us. Olivier then took charge of selecting the wines to complement our meal. His insightful recommendations, based on our personal preferences, ensured a perfect harmony between the wines and the dishes we savored in three distinct courses throughout this culinary experience. From the appetizers and fish to the meat and desserts, it was a true culinary odyssey, exploring a palette of textures, umami, colors, and presentations on the plate, uniting all the elements with exemplary mastery. Moreover, the magnificent gardens and picturesque park surrounding the château added a touch of natural beauty to this already remarkable experience. In short, our stay at Château de la Chenevière was an exceptional gastronomic experience, where each meal became a sensory adventure, orchestrated by a dedicated and talented team. A journey to the heart of flavors, gustatory pleasures, and unforgettable moments, leaving a culinary imprint etched in our memories for years to come.Published on Google![]()

Wow! Wow!!! We've just returned from Château La Cheneviere for our sixth stay. Once again, our experience was absolutely incredible!!! Just as memorable and wonderful as our first stay in 2014. The location is very strategic as it can serve as a hub for visiting the many nearby towns, such as Étretat, Mont-Michel, Honfleur, Caen, Bayeux, and the D-Day Landing Beaches. The estate-hotel is situated in the tranquil countryside; elegant with its timeless décor, yet not stuffy, surrounded by beautiful farmland and rolling hills. It is 3 minutes from the picturesque little seaside town of Port-en-Bessin and 10 minutes from Bayeau. The gardens are impressively clean with foliage and a variety of trees that must be over a hundred years old. You will enjoy sitting outside in one of their outdoor spaces, sipping a glass of wine, and taking in the spectacular scenery. The rooms are large, very clean, and each decorated differently and with impeccable taste. The staff is phenomenal. They make you feel like you're staying as a guest in their own home. If you have the chance, book dinner at their gourmet restaurant, Le Botaniste, and their Petit Jardin, which is located in a glass house. The food, service, and ambiance are excellent and distinct in each restaurant. The dining experience will be an event in itself. Furthermore, their wine selection is quite impressive. A special thank you to Aurélie, Justine, and Béatrice for their consistently warm welcome and for being so attentive to our every need. We're already looking forward to our return to Normandy and our next stay at Château La Chenevière.Published on TripAdvisor![]()

Pure paradise! I thought we had died and gone to heaven! This is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, especially Beatrice in the restaurant/bar—she is lovely! The rooms are huge and comfortable, making you feel like you've stepped back in time and are right at home. The bathrooms are updated with Amazonian rain shower heads and side jets, and heated towel rails. I slept with my windows open as it was cool, and it was the most amazing sleep I've had in a long time. We had dinner at the restaurant, which was very chic; we felt like dressing up for dinner. Their specialty drinks were incredible, and the food was beautiful and delicious. It was by far the highlight of our week in France, even though we only stayed two nights.
